FOR WHOM?


Every student with a diploma contract at VIVES or HBO5 RHIZO can make use of our services, if that student is registered for at least 27 credits (this may be less in the graduation year).

Postgraduates and Ba-Na-Ba students cannot use our services, but we are happy to refer them to other instances.


Unfortunately, we can't offer counseling in English at this point in time. We refer you to this practice: https://www.praktijkdekade.be. But, we can offer financial support if necessary. To discuss this, make an appointment with Marie Versavel. During this meeting we can discuss the amount and method of the payment.

HOW DO I REACH YOU?

It’s best to make an appointment. You can use the contact details below, the STUVO reception, by email, over the telephone or in person by popping in. You can also talk directly to our psychological service workers.

A conversation can happen physically, over the telephone or through video chat (we use Whereby, an application comparable to Skype, but with better privacy norms).

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

During our first conversation, you tell us your story and we listen. Then, together, we’ll explore how we can best help.

If we decide together that more discussions would be helpful, we can make a second appointment straight away. How often you attend is not set in advance. You can decide to stop at any time. Sometimes just that first chat is all it takes.

One-on-one discussions are free of charge.

And we are bound to professional confidentiality. What you tell us will never be shared with others (for example, parents or lecturers) without your explicit consent. You can rely on that.

If necessary, we can direct you to another service or to a private therapist. We do this with your agreement if extra help is needed, or if practical circumstances make it difficult for you to make use of STUVO's services. Under certain conditions, you may receive financial support for this assistance.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO MY APPOINTMENT?

If you're unable to attend your appointment with us for any reason, please let us know and cancel or reschedule it by using the link 'Wijzig deze afspraak' in the confirmation mail you received. Please do this as quickly as possible and at least 24 hours in advance (except in case of exceptional circumstances). Also let us know your reason for rescheduling or cancellation. That way, we keep as many appointment opportunities as possible open for others. Thank you for your cooperation!
